USAID APIK undertakes its work at the national level and at the local level in three provinces: The Brantas river watershed in East Java, the coastal areas of Southeast Sulawesi, and the small islands of Maluku. These three distinct landscapes each require a unique set of strategies in order to adapt to the effects of climate change. With that in mind, USAID APIK introduced specific interventions that were tailored to the local contexts of each location.
This report describes USAID APIK’s main activities over the last four years. USAID APIK has managed to integrate climate resilience and disaster response into local government plans and budgets, ensuring that they will continue to take necessary actions to improve climate change resilience.
